One of the most important divisions of the Town of Innisfail's Protective Services is the Innisfail Volunteer Fire Department.

Based out of Innisfail's Fire Hall, currently located at 4955 – 53rd Street, this experienced and committed group consists of 28 volunteers and a part-time Fire Chief. The Innisfail Volunteer Fire Department answers approximately 200 emergency calls per year, including fires of all varieties, dangerous goods incidents, motor vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, high/low angle rescues, ice rescues, water rescues and swift water rescues. The Department also provides services for the area of Red Deer County that surrounds the Town of Innisfail.

New Fire Hall

In order to better accommodate the staff and equipment needed, the Town of Innisfail has commissioned a new Fire Hall to be built at the location of the former Mary Morton Library, 4949 – 49th Street, Innisfail. Construction began in the fall of 2011.

Fire practices are scheduled for the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month. Contact Fire Chief John Syroid at 403-227-5800 to find out more about becoming a volunteer fire fighter.
